Microchanneling in Langley, BC
Microchanneling uses fine needles to create small, controlled channels in the skin. It may be considered for selected concerns about skin texture, fine lines or the appearance of acne scars. At Ethos Dental Studio in Walnut Grove, Langley, a whole-face consultation considers your skin health, medical history and goals before any treatment recommendation.
Skin wellness, considered as part of the whole face. A conversation about your goals, not a promise of perfection.

Understanding your options
What is microchanneling?
Microchanneling is a form of skin needling intended to stimulate the skin’s repair response through controlled superficial punctures. It is discussed for selected texture and appearance concerns, not as a treatment for every skin condition. The device, treatment depth, any products used and your skin’s condition all matter. It is different from Botox, which acts on targeted muscles, and it does not replace dental care or a dermatological diagnosis.
A whole-face conversation about skin and smile goals
Suitability assessed before a treatment plan
Realistic expectations and individual aftercare
Personal, never one-size-fits-all
Is it right for you?
An assessment comes before deciding on treatment. Tell us about active acne, cold sores, infections, eczema or other skin disease, a tendency to form raised scars, recent procedures, pregnancy, medications including isotretinoin or blood thinners, and any healing concerns. Treatment may need to be postponed, avoided or referred to a medical skin-care provider. An unexplained or changing skin lesion needs medical assessment rather than cosmetic treatment.
A clear path forward
Know what to expect.
- 01
Start with your skin story
Discuss the changes you hope to see, your skin routine, previous procedures and health history. We consider the whole face and whether a medical referral is more appropriate.
- 02
Understand the proposed care
Ask about the device, treatment area, products, comfort measures, expected recovery, risks and alternatives. A recommendation and written estimate come before consent; no fixed number of sessions suits everyone.
- 03
Treat, protect and review
If you proceed, follow the individual preparation and aftercare instructions. These may include gentle skin care, sun protection and temporarily avoiding irritating products or makeup. Review healing before planning any further treatment.
Time, fees & informed decisions
Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling and pinpoint bleeding can occur. Infection, pigment changes and scarring are possible. Recovery and results vary with skin type, treatment depth and your health; neither a particular result nor a downtime-free visit is guaranteed. Ask which changes should prompt a call and when it is safe to resume your usual skin routine.
Microchanneling for cosmetic skin goals is generally an out-of-pocket service. Do not assume dental insurance or CDCP covers it. Ask for a written estimate, including any proposed follow-up sessions, before deciding.

Your microchanneling questions.
Good care starts with a conversation. Here are a few things you might be wondering.
Is microchanneling the same as Botox?
No. Microchanneling creates controlled channels in the skin, while Botox is a prescription injection that temporarily reduces activity in targeted muscles. They have different purposes, risks and suitability requirements.
Can microchanneling remove acne scars or fine lines completely?
No result can be guaranteed. It may be discussed for selected appearance concerns, but response varies and scars or lines may remain. An assessment helps establish realistic goals and alternatives.
Is microchanneling suitable for every skin type?
Not automatically. Skin tone, active skin conditions, healing history and medications affect risks, including pigment changes and scarring. A clinician should assess your individual suitability and any need for medical referral.
What should I expect after treatment?
Redness, tenderness and swelling may occur, and recovery varies. Follow your individual skin-care and sun-protection instructions. Contact your provider about worsening pain, spreading redness, discharge, fever or other unexpected symptoms.
Can I discuss skin wellness without committing to treatment?
Yes. Book a consultation or call (604) 513-8282 to discuss your goals, suitability, proposed care and fees before making a decision.
What happens before I decide on treatment?
An assessment comes first. We review your health history, discuss the findings and explain suitable options, limitations, alternatives and any referral before you consent.
Will I receive a written estimate, and is coverage guaranteed?
We provide a written estimate after assessment; coverage is not guaranteed. Insurance and CDCP benefits, eligibility and approvals vary, and co-payments or non-covered fees may apply. Confirm your expected patient portion before proceeding.
